 - The 18-year-old has been in sublime form for Sky Bet Championship side Reading 

- Reports have it that several big Premier League clubs are chasing the youngster


 

Big Premier League clubs Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly in fresh to sign Nigerian teenage striker Michael Olise.

 The 18-year-old has attracted the big clubs due to his blistering form for Sky Bet Championship side Reading, Complete Sports reports.

Olise who had his youth stints at Chelsea, Manchester City and Reading has scored 2 goals in his 10 appearances for the Royals this season so far.

He is already featured for the France U18 team, but he is eligible to play for the Nigerian national team at the senior level.


Meanwhile, Stoke City manager Michael O’Neil has hailed the performances of former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel since he joined the club.

 Mikel joined Stoke during the summer transfer window on a ‘free’ and the Nigerian footballer has played in every minute for the side since his arrival.

 The 33-year-old was brilliant for for the club on Saturday, October 31, inspiring them to defeat Rotherham United in the Championship.


 O'Neil explained that he is happy with Mikel since he joined the side and hopes the Nigerian will continue with his fine form this season in the Championship. He said: 

”I think John Obi has done very well as well, particularly we’ve seen his quality in recent games.

 

“We believe we will continue to get stronger as a team."

The Potters currently occupy eight position on the Championship table with 15 points after nine games played. 

Meanwhile, Uprightblogonline earlier reported that Super Eagles forward Moses Simon may have been ruled out of Nigeria's 2022 Africa Cup of Nations' qualifier against Sierra Leone.

The three-time AFCON kings sit atop of Group L with six points after victories over Lesotho and Benin in their first two fixtures.

They however welcome the Leone Stars to the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Friday, November 13 while they travel to Freetown for the second leg four days later.

It is unlikely that the 25-year-old winger would be a part of the squad after being substituted in their 25th minute of Nantes' 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint Germain this weekend.
